Founded in 1995, the Northern Centre for Advanced Technology (NORCAT) is a leading private, non-profit organization that empowers our clients, staff, and community partners to drive a culture of productivity, innovation, and life-long learning. NORCAT offers Surface and Underground Diamond Driller Common Core – Assistant Level (#770200 & #770150), which NORCAT developed in compliance with the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) standards. Upon successfully completing this program, each trainee will be registered with the MLTSD for Surface and Underground Diamond Driller Assistant. This five-week (200 hours) program combines both theory and practical hands-on, experiential learning in an operating mine environment. Trainees will learn to operate various equipment and the safety requirements and government guidelines that you must understand to complete the program successfully. The program also provides a hands-on introduction to new and innovative diamond drilling equipment and technology that is transforming the global mining industry.
