Team Drilling has been recognized as the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association (CDDA) December Member of the Month. With an impressive 15 years in the industry, Team Drilling’s commitment to providing a safe work environment for its employees has been paramount throughout its journey.
Team Drilling’s number one priority is to provide a safe work environment to their employees. Team Drilling also proudly shared that they have worked Lost Time Free since 2015. They highlight that they have the responsibility to every team member- their employees, contractors, clients, and shareholders to proactively work on strengthening safety. Team Drilling shared the photo above from one of their annual Supervisors Meetings. Once a year they have a meeting with all their supervisors for safety refreshers. As noted, as a TEAM they achieve more!
Team Drilling believes safety starts with the people who make up their team. Fostering and encouraging a culture of safety, where safety is a part of every process, is critical to achieving a zero-incidence record. They also believe that investing in training their employees helps keep everyone safe. All their drillers are trained and carry certificates in:
- WHMIS
- Fall arrest
- Due Diligence
- Transportation of dangerous goods
- Spill response
- Lock and tag out
- Isolation training
- Fire protection
- St John’s Ambulance, First Aid and CPR
- Anti-harassment training
As part of their team safety program, safety comes first in all activities. They are continually assessing, investigating, evaluating and improving their safety systems. They are registered with the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association (CDDA) DEC program and Robert Fleming, Team Drilling President and CEO serves on the CDDA Board of Directors. Team Drilling also serves on the MiHR National Occupational Standards Development Committee as an advisor for Diamond Drilling.
As a member of the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association (CDDA), Team Drilling is certified by the CDDA’s Drilling Excellence Certification (DEC) program. The DEC program was created to improve environmental and safety performance across the drilling industry, and sets standards that help companies demonstrate to clients and regulators that they have a health and safety, environmental and quality management system. Companies that are DEC certified have met or exceeded the program’s requirements, and have demonstrated a high commitment to safety and professionalism in drilling.
