Canadore College- Innovation Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Prototyping (ICAMP) is a not-for-profit innovation centre operated by Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario. Our mission is to promote the growth and success of Canadian industry by providing direct, cost-effective access to the latest in advanced manufacturing technology and expertise.
Their first mission is to promote the health and growth of Canadian Industry. ICAMP operates on a flexible service model, ranging from a basic fee structure for use of our facility/equipment up to complete project management of multi-year applied research ventures. Our team of professionals has completed over 1100 projects for our industry clients, and will work with you to ensure that any project we undertake will meet the needs of your company.
ICAMP was established to provide Canadian manufacturing companies with the resources required to compete on the global stage. ICAMP provides cost-effective access to the latest in advanced manufacturing technologies and practices.
At ICAMP, they recognize that different companies have different requirements. ICAMP’s facilities and personnel are available and accessible by their clients at any step in their product development process. From equipment training to full research and development project execution, ICAMP provides technology and services for a wide range of needs.
ICAMP can assist in sourcing funding opportunities for projects to reduce the financial risk of applied research. ICAMP operates as an independent, business-facing unit within Canadore College. Using this hybrid model, ICAMP offers the following benefits to our clients and partners:

• A secure facility with comprehensive R&D capabilities committed to protecting our clients’ intellectual property; and
• Ability to leverage existing college infrastructure (shops and labs) to provide businesses with the support required during all phases of their product/process development.

ICAMP offers full-service research and development capabilities and technical services, backed by our 13,300 sq. ft. laboratory and in-house shop infrastructure. Technical services offered by ICAMP include:
• Product design;
• Rapid prototype development;
• Reverse engineering;
• 3D printing in both metal and plastic;
• Material and product testing;
• Machining/cutting;
• Process design and automation; and
• Simulation.
As part of Canadore College — a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council approved applied research organization – ICAMP draws on a deep network of manufacturing experts with experience in industries as varied as mining and mineral exploration, forestry, aerospace, transportation, sporting goods, recreational vehicles, and household goods markets.
